The concept
The vision for St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School was to create a welcoming and age-appropriate washroom environment for young pupils. The design focused on safety, cleanliness, and ease of use — combining playful colour contrasts with durable materials to ensure the washrooms remained practical and inviting.
The process
Leigh Washrooms carried out a complete refurbishment, beginning with the removal of old fixtures and finishes. The installation included new hygienic wall cladding, slip-resistant safety flooring, and a redesigned layout to maximise functionality.
Custom solid-surface vanity troughs were installed with non-concussive taps for water control, complemented by low-height cubicles featuring curved doors for added supervision and safety. Bright, contrasting colours were used across cubicles, vanity panels, and dispensers to create a cheerful and engaging atmosphere suitable for primary school children.
The outcome
The finished washroom provides a fresh, durable, and child-friendly space that promotes hygiene and independence among pupils. The new design combines vibrant aesthetics with easy maintenance — ensuring the facilities remain clean, safe, and long-lasting for everyday school use.
